The book of Ruth ends with an image of redemption that comes from a surprising place.  Naomi’s life has taken unexpected twists and turns throughout this story, but in the end, God provides for Naomi’s redemption in surprising ways.

We can sometimes fall into the error of believing that qualities such as shrewdness and ambition have no place in God’s plans.  The story of Ruth 4 gives us a different perspective, as we see Boaz’s cleverness to secure Ruth as his wife.
